Concrete Driveway Cost
When trying to calculate the cost of a concrete driveway there are several key things to consider. Obviously you will need to calculate the size and to do so you simply multiply the lenght by the width. Sometimes the driveway isn't exactly square or rectangular. in such a case simply square it off and multiply. This simple equation will give you the square feet of the driveway.
Next you will want to figure the amount of concrete needed. Now that you have the size of the driveway in square feet it is simple to drive the amount of concrete needed for the pour. If you are wanting a four inch thick driveway you will divide the number of square feet by eighty since a square yard of concrete will go about eighty square feet. At six inches thick a yard of concrete will go about fifty four feet, so to figure the driveway at six inches simply divide by 54.
For decorative concrete costs simply add $3.00 per square foot
Once you figure the amount of concrete you will be using you will need to find out what a yard of concrete costs in your area. Currently, in the Atlanta market a yard of concrete sells for about $100 per yard.
Of course to figure the cost of a driveway you will need to consider the costs of building materials, labor, and equipment.
At Concrete Contractors the average cost of a new driveway is typically about $3.00 per foot and the cost to replace a driveway including demo and disposal is around $4.00 per foot.
